The amount of SEO effort needed for your website depends on the structure of your site and the following factors:
The quality of content on your website
The number of pages on your website
The number of backlinks pointing to each page
How long has your agency been in business?
How long has your company been in the industry?
How long has your company been in this city?
How long has your company been in this country? (Or, "How long have you worked for this agency?")
No, SEO isn't a one-time project. It's more like an ongoing process that you'll need to continue for your website's health and longevity.
As I mentioned earlier, Google is constantly updating its algorithm in order to provide users with the best user experience possible and to weed out spammy websites. If you want your site to rank well on search engines over time, then you'll need to be regularly working on it so that it stays relevant and up-to-date.
Changes in SEO take time to be visible on Google.
The first thing you should know is that it takes time for Google to index your website and crawl it. So, when implementing SEO, it's important to understand that there isn't a quick-fix solution that will result in immediate results. Changes made have an effect over a period of time and are not visible immediately by users or search engines alike.
A well-optimized website will typically rank higher than a poorly optimized one. However, there are no guarantees that your website will appear on the first page of Google results just because it has been optimized.
A limited number of websites can be placed at the top of search engine results for any given query, and this takes into account both relevance to the user's query and authority of the site that is making the request. Relevance depends on factors such as how often people type in keywords related to your business/website, whether there are other pages/sites about these topics outranking yours and how long it has been since someone searched for something similar on Google or Bing etcetera (their time horizon). Authority depends on factors such as who links back to your site (including social media shares), whether they're reputable websites themselves etcetera; but also some things like age: if a company was founded 50 years ago then their website might be more authoritative even though it hasn't changed much over those decades compared with an upstart startup with only five years worth of history!
Google does not ban websites from search results for updates to SEO. If you have made changes, such as updated your title tag or meta description, you may need to wait a week or two before these are reflected in your rankings. It's important to keep in mind that the appearance of your website on Google is affected by many factors (including the quality of content and links pointing to your site), so even if these changes don't immediately affect how well your site ranks, it may take some time before they begin having an effect on traffic levels.
If Google penalized our site for SEO changes, we would be notified via email - but this has never happened at any of our clients' sites where we have made SEO updates (and plenty besides).
You can do SEO on your own and you might get lucky, but it’s not something that you should expect to be successful at without the right experience, tools and knowledge.

The length of time it takes to see results from SEO is dependent on a number of factors, including:
